Em Minx, conhecemos a história de Joyce (Ophelia Lovibond), uma jovem que almeja se tornar uma grande autora feminista. Duurante os anos 1970 em Los Angeles, o período ficou conhecido pelo grande crescimento econômico e o surgimento de uma forte segunda onda feminista, em que mulheres do país inteiro se manifestaram pela igualdade de gênero, e Joyce não ficou de fora dessa. No entanto, ao tentar impulsionar sua carreira, ela acaba se juntando com um parceiro de negócios improvável. Doug (Jack Johnson) é um editor falido, mas que acredita nas ideias de Joyce o suficiente para tentar construir algo inovador juntos.
