"The league contacted us out of Los Angeles, end of last week," said Jim Edwards, of the Spirit Bank Event Center. Could the ladies pack the stands night after night?

"The financial side of it is definitely tempting," he said.

But a temptation that's been tempered out of what would fly in Green Country.

"It just didn't seem like a good fit for the community and for the types of events that we want to have in here," he said.

"What? It's shorts, they're wearing tank tops, have you noticed that? Yeah I noticed," chuckled Chuck Stikl and Greg Kocsak, hosts of the morning show on Z-104.5 Listeners by and large supported it. And as for risque? What about those other female athletes?

"Roller derby is something that we have here and have had for a while," said Stikl.

And then there's that issue of economic development.

"Ticket sales are between $19, $20 for the base ticket, and they go up to as much as $90 dollars, let's face it, that's income, we need income in the city, the state could use it," said Kocsak.

The Dallas Desire, the Philadelphia Passion, one can only wonder what Tulsa's team would have been named.

"We get a lot of suggestions I can tell you that. I'll tell you what its not going to be," they laughed.
