:sinopse:

Os mediadores de divórcios John Beckwith (Owen Wilson) e Jeremy Gray (Vince Vaughn) são sócios e amigos de longa data, partilhando um único hobbie na vida: estragar casamentos! Mas o sua única finalidade é engatar mulheres excitadas apenas com a ideia do casamento. No final de mais uma temporada, Jeremy descobre que a filha do Secretário do Tesouro (Christopher Walken) se vai casar, no que será o evento social do ano em Washington. Depois de se infiltrarem na luxuosa cerimónia, John e Jeremy ficam de olho nas damas de honor Claire (Rachel McAdams) e Gloria Cleary (Isla Fisher). Mas, contra o que é habitual, John fica realmente interessado por Claire, convencendo o resistente Jeremy a fintar um pouco as "regras", de forma a poder aceitar um convite para a festa que se segue. Já na palaciana propriedade costeira dos Cleary, passam por uma série de desventuras cómicas, às mãos dos membros de uma família histericamente disfuncional, mas também aprendem algumas inesperadas lições sobre o amor...
