Centenas continuam desaparecidos e 75 mortes já confirmadas, os socorristas esforçam-se para encontrar sobreviventes na segunda noite após um terremoto devastador atingiu Christchurch, a segunda maior cidade da Nova Zelândia terça-feira. Edifícios destruídos nas ruas depois do terremoto de magnitude 6,3, que os geólogos consideram um tremor de um terremoto de 7.1 que não causou vítimas, em setembro. O Tremor de terça-feira foi mais devastador e mortal, porque era centrado apenas seis quilômetros do centro da cidade e bateu no meio da jornada de trabalho. O governo declarou estado de emergência nacional.
