São diferenciados, e não deve ser confundidos com uma banda de Nova Jersey com o nome "The Satellites", que já havia lançado um álbum em 1980, intitulado "A Brand New Episode".
Os Georgia Satellites são conhecidos pelo o seu hit-single de 1986, "Keep Your Hands to Yourself" e pela inspiração em Chuck Berry, Little Feat, AC / DC, entre outros.
