Francis Albert Sinatra (Hoboken, 12 de dezembro de 1915 — Los Angeles, 14 de maio de 1998) foi um cantor e ator norte-americano, considerado uma das maiores vozes do século XX e com mais de 50 anos de carreira.
Iniciou a sua carreira durante a Swing Era e lançou centenas de canções imortalizadas na sua voz, como Killing Me Softly, Strangers in the Night, New York, New York, My Way, Fly Me to the Moon, entre outras.
Filho de dois imigrantes italianos, foi casado com Nancy Barbato e posteriormente com as atrizes Ava Gardner e Mia Farrow, e com a socialite Barbara Marx, com quem terminou os seus dias. Possui duas estrelas na Calçada da Fama, uma pelo o seu trabalho na música e outra pelo o seu trabalho na TV americana.
É considerado um dos maiores intérpretes da música na década de 50. Teve três filhos: Nancy Sinatra, Frank Sinatra Jr., e Tina Sinatra.
Sem nenhum treino formal, Sinatra desenvolveu um estilo altamente sofisticado. A sua habilidade em criar uma longa e fluente linha musical sem pausas para respiração, a sua manipulação de frases, fizeram-no chegar bem mais longe que o usual dos cantores populares.
Sinatra apareceu em mais de cinquenta filmes, entre eles: "Anchors Aweigh" (1945), "On The Town" (1949), "From Here To Eternity" (1953), com o qual ganhou o Oscar, "The Man With The Golden Arm" e "High Society" (ambos de 1956), "The Manchurian Candidate" (1962) e "The First Deadly Sin" (1980).
Fez parte do chamado Rat Pack, grupo de artistas muito ativo entre meados da década de 50 e 60.
Teve seu próprio show de TV durante vários anos e nos anos 90 continuou ativo em concertos e gravações, onde lançou uma série de duetos, inclusive via satélite, utilizando recursos da mais moderna tecnologia.
Os seus principais sucessos são "Fly me to the moon", "My Way" e "New York, New York".
