Sandra Ann Lauer, nome artístico de Sandra (nascida em 18 de maio de 1962) é uma cantora pop alemâ, que dominou as tabelas europeias com dezoito hits top 20 durante os anos 80 e início de 1990, com a ajuda do seu parceiro, então marido e musico, Michael Cretu.
Durante uma breve altura de maior popularidade, ela até vendeu mais que a Madonna em vários países.
No início da sua carreira, de 1979 a 1984, foi a vocalista do trio Disco/dance Arabesque, que teve grande sucesso no Japão e Rússia.
Posteriormente, e já como artista a solo, teve o seu primeiro hit-single "(I'll Never Be) Maria Magdalena", em 1985, seguido por "In the Heat of the Night".
Em 1986 lançou "Hi! Hi! Hi!", depois "Everlasting Love", em 1987, "Heaven Can Wait", em 1988 e "Hiroshima", em 1990. Os seus álbuns de maior sucesso foram, Into a Secret Land de 1988 e Close to Seven de 1992.
Entre 1990 e 2001, participou no projecto de muito sucesso Enigma.
Com um estilo de cantar único de alta-frequência, ela liderou as tabelas de lugares tão distantes como o Egito, África do Sul, Israel, Japão e Brasil, bem como na Suécia e França.
Ela continua sendo uma das cantoras mais populares da década de 80 na Europa Continental, com uma grande quantidade e dedicados fans.
