Os Reformados da Investigação

The Go-Betweens foram um grupo rock indie formado em Brisbane, Austrália no ano de 1977, pelos cantores, compositores e guitarristas, Robert Forster e Grant McLennan . A eles juntaram-se Lindy Morrison na bateria, Robert Vickers no baixo e Amanda Brown no violino, oboé, guitarra e vocaisng, até se separarem no final de 1989.
Forster e McLennan reformaram a banda em 2000 com um novo line-up, McLennan faleceu a 6 de maio de 2006 e os The Go-Betweens dissolveram-se novamente.
Em 1988, "Streets of Your Town", o primeiro single de 16 Lovers Lane, tornou-se o maior hit da banda na Austrália e no Reino Unido. A única follow-up, "Was There Anything I Could Do?" atingiu o No. 16 na Billboard Modern Rock Tracks nos Estados Unidos. Em maio de 2001, a musica "Cattle and Cane", do álbum de 83, Before Hollywood, foi escolhida pela Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) como uma das 30 músicas australianas de todos os tempos. Em 2008, 16 Lovers Lane foi destaque no Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) TV como um exemplo clássico de música rock dos anos 80.
