Léa, Adrien and their little brother Théo who is deaf, are forced to spend their summer vacation in Provence with their maternal grandfather, Paul Oliveron. Paul is a boorish man whom they've never met because of an old family quarrel. The children are upset about being separated from their father for the summer and spending it with this angry man, who is no happier about the idea. After a difficult period of adjustment, they learn to get along. Then, when some of Paul's old friends arrive disclosing information about his turbulent past, the children's summer becomes one of discovery and new experiences.
