First things first, all of the songs here are original recordings by original artists, so you won't be disappointed by inferior and unfamiliar versions of your favourite tracks. I bought this as a cheap way to get loads of single tracks for my i-pod. You get 99 tracks here and it would have cost me the same to buy just 20 single tracks of i-tunes. So even if you only like half the set you'll still be getting a real bargain.
This has something for everyone, there can't be many collections which succesfully represent the disparate musical genres of the 1970's; not just rock and pop but disco, punk, glam rock, heavy metal, reggae, soul, ska, new wave. There are a few duff 'fillers', there always are on compilations of this nature, but on the whole this is full of classic tracks and songs you'd forgotten you liked.
