Este filme é uma obra prima do Roman Polanski, é simplesmente o melhor filme que ele realizou.
Não foi por ter ganho o óscar de melhor realização, mas simplesmente porque é um filme de génio, baseado numa biografia real e cujo argumento também foi premiado com 1 óscar da Academia. Para além disso temos uma direção artística fantástica e o enorme Adrien Brody, que é o ator principal e "O Pianista" que conquistou, também ele, o óscar de melhor actor principal.
