Robert Allen Palmer (19 de janeiro de 1949 - 26 de Setembro de 2003), nascido em Batley, Yorkshire, foi um cantor-compositor inglês vencedor de um Grammy Award.
Ele era conhecido pela a sua voz marcante e eclética que misturava  vários estilos musicais nos seus álbuns, como o soul, jazz, rock, pop, reggae e blues.
Ele atingiu o sucesso com a sua carreira a solo e no supergrupo Power Station,  e teve 10 top hits tanto nos EUA como no Reino Unido.
Robert Palmer também editou vídeos de grande sucesso para os seus hits "Simply Irresistible" e "Addicted to Love", apresentado mulheres dançando com o rosto pálido, olhos pintados de preto e batom vermelho, que lembrava as mulheres nas peças de Patrick Nagel, um artista popular década de 80.
Iniciou a sua carreia nos anos 60, que abrangeu cinco décadas, lançando 14 albuns e editado musicas de grande sucesso como "Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor)", "Simply Irresistible" e "Addicted to Love.
Fez parte do super grupo Power Station com Andy Taylor e John Taylor dos Duran Duran e Tony Thompson dos Chic, que editaram dois hits "Some Like It Hot" (US #6) e a cover dos T.Rex "Get It On (Bang a Gong)".
Morreu a 26 de setembro de 200 (54 anos), em Paris, após ataque cardico.
