Os Jefferson Airplane foram uma banda norte-americana de rock psicadélico formada em São Francisco no verão de 1965, uma pioneira do movimento musical psicodélico.
Várias encarnações posteriores do grupo original continuaram a tocar sob nomes diferentes, um reflexo do passar dos anos e da formação da banda. Foram eles Jefferson Starship, mais tarde somente Starship e posteriormente Jefferson Starship The Next Generation.
As suas canções mais famosas como Jefferson Aiplane são "Somebody To Love", de 1966, "White Rabbit", de 1967; como Starship são "Sara", de 1985, e "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now", de 1987.
